Stefan Bellof (November 20th, 1957) and his Porsche 956. He is the holder of the fastest lap at the Nurburgring Nordschleife, both unofficial and official (6:11.13’ and 6:25.91’, respectively).And that car, right there, is the pinnacle of the Group C cars.
Sadly, his life was ended prematurely.. (killed in an accident with Jacky Ickx at Spa 1000km)
I hate that he is left out of the 1984 Monaco story every time it’s told.
